Very nice place to stay. Liked the afternoon tea. Very friendly staff. Beautiful gardens with lots of space for walks - this was an unexpected bonus. We walked from the property into the village which was very pretty.

Two floors and good stairway access. The staff were generally great—one chef in particular was wonderfully accommodating

I liked the room and how things were arranged in the room. I liked the bed as well, it was comfortable to rest on. The room was very neat and the environment had a good serene.

Lovely clean homely rooms, lovely outside area in a sunny backyard garden. Warm welcome from hosts. Thoughtful breakfast provisions provided.

The room was quiet, comfortable and had everything needed.
The room was quiet, comfortable and had everything needed. There were good facilities at the hotel - dining room, seating area, bar, good parking and was easily accessible. The reception staff were helpful and friendly.
The hotel is situated within easy reach of the M3 and also Basingstoke. And I feel it was reasonably priced

Small town that has a really good shopping centre with a wide choice of the normal and more unusual shops. There are plenty of places to eat, cinema complex, theatre and a good selection of places to park.

A great mixture of old and new: new shopping mall cleverly melded into "old town". Very well looked after and litter-free. Lots of indoor activities especially for children and young families.
Excellent range of properties for folk wanting to settle there (with good access to London).
Lots of road works but probably a passing phase.

We didn’t really explore locally, but rather used it as a base to explore the whole area. It’s just a touch over an hours drive to the south coast, to Bath and to London. We visited Estates with some of the best art collections outside of London, the National Auto Museum, Wisley Garden, rode bikes in the New Forest, played disc golf, visited the Safari Park and much more. There’s a good pub 10 minutes walk away and a huge grocery store about 10 minutes drive away. Perfect!

Basingstoke was a surprise for me...
Basingstoke was a surprise for me...I hadn't expected it to be so full of art & culture. Every available space it seemed to me had been brought to life with a variety of paintings ; poetry ; lighting etc The streets were clean ...plenty of litter bins...hardly any graffiti...people seem to take a pride in their town, which was great to see. I rejoiced to see a market place being used and numerous independent shops as well as a vibrant shopping centre. There are also a number of well maintained green spaces - Eastrop and Glebe Gardens fir example.
I didn't have occasion to use the bus service but did use the railway station and went to Salisbury , Whitchurch and Romsey.
The Ring Rd is a bit of a challenge but at least the roundabouts are named , which is useful! There is easy access to the M3.
I went self catering but found a really nice coffee shop on the way to the station- I think it is called Willow Tea Room ...it is near the statue of the Bluecoat school boy!
It is multi cultural so you are spoilt for choice re eating out. The shopping centre is bright, clean and vibrant.

Very basic hotel that could do with updating.
Very basic hotel that could do with updating. Dirty coffee spoon in bedroom. Dinner only had once, poor quality so eat out in other restaurants, luckily plenty around within 5 mins walk. Internet very poor, could not use I Phones and on laptop very slow so hard to do work in eves.
Staff very nice & friendly
After having to leave The Hampshire Court hotel due to it's dangerous and filthy condition. I had to find a hotel at very short notice.
Audleys Wood had availability at a higher price than I had paid at the pig pen, but if I had known how beautiful this hotel was and how fantastic the staff where I would be more than happy to have booked there first.
My deepest thanks go to all the staff, from the night Porter to the hotel Manager that saved our weekend away.
The staff went out of their way to get my room ready early after hearing I'd just left hospital. All the staff I interacted with were very professional, cheerful and helpful.
The food in the bar was excellent and well-priced.
Having stayed in a few other hotels in Basingstoke, I believe the rating on booking.com does not reflect the very positive experience I had and is too low.
I will be staying there again.
There were some snacks left for us for breakfast: cereal, cakes and crisps and also milk and water in fridge as well as coffee and teabags. Also microwave and toaster was provided. We had toiletries and soap. Room was cozy, perfect for short stay and near to town centre. You can check in anytime as there is no need to be server by any personnel, and same with the check out. Also free wifi and tv.
Absolutely blissful stay though it's not in Basingstoke, it's in Dummer and connectivity through bus/public transport is not great so a good option only if one has a car. Martin & his wife were perfectly welcoming, sweet and helpful! Room was in a great condition and washroom was super clean. Lovely guest house situated in the countryside, and great views! 👍🏼
Really enjoyed my stay at the Basingstoke Holiday Inn. It's a lovely well maintained hotel, close enough to everything but tucked away enough so it was nice and quiet. The one problem we had, when the shower wouldn't work in our first room, was resolved very quickly. We were moved rooms swiftly and were able to enjoy our stay. I will definitely stay again.
There is nothing not to love about this hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms and hotel itself are lovely, the food was a high standard and we especially loved how welcoming the staff were to us and our dog - all exceptional. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a dog friendly hotel to stay here.
It's the 2nd time I visit this hotel and I will definitely visit it again in the future. It's very close to everything, in a nice quiet area just opposite the Festival Place. The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds and well equipped. I recommend it ! I really enjoyed my stay there.
Fantastic hotel with beautiful indoor pool and Starbucks coffee shop. I paid for a club room so I had access to the pool area (otherwise you can pay there) but didn’t realise that also included free parking so win win!
Everything was perfect. The guests were so friendly and patient. They made me feel so comfortable all the time. And the location in Basingstoke is excelent. I will definetely return if I ever come back to Basingstoke!
Stunning location, beautiful room, the lady on reception in the evening was extremely helpful and polite.......and the breakfast was exceptional, with superb service. One of the best hotel experiences I've had.
Was moved twice and was only for 1 night as well. Will not be staying again. Not value for money and rooms were dirty, furniture missing photos to prove. More like a 2 star hotel not a 4
