"Parking area below hotel is very very small, and only accessable via a very small car lift. There is plently of onstreet free parking, which is probably a better alternative. I was warned about breakins to vehicles, but there didn't seem to be any problems. Very central location to all the restaurants and shops in central Calais." (97524901)

easy location from Eurotunnel. Room was small, but clean. Thought at first was going to be noisy but had a very restful night.

We asked for a baby cot and got one - not always guaranteed, so it was good. Reception staff spoke excellent English. Good view from the room.

Bit expensive to not have breakfast included.

excellent central location with good outlook - reasonable size room

expensive cost for superior room that was little different from normal rooms stayed in - toilet pan loose and shower head inefficient - not what is expected of a superior room!!

"A very clean and orderly hotel nicely situated at the end of the main street. The view from my room was good as it over looked the harbour. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times before and it seems to have maintained the first class customer care. If I have one criticism it would be that I had to use a third party to get a better room rate." (97521128)

Very clean, comfortable room and friendly staff.

  • 8/10 Ann ( Mature couple)

"Hotel in excllent location and ten minutes drive from eurotunnel, ferry even closer. Good food at reasonable price for evening dining. good parking facilities right outside hotel. The hotel and eurtunnel travel worked well together for a relaxing week-end away. We would recommend travel by eurotunnel and the Holiday Inn if you have limited time available - they worked very well together. A thoroughbly enjoyable week-end which offered value for money." (97907715)

clean with more than adequate facilities for our overnight stay. hotel in good location for beach, bars, markets etc. staff friendly excellent breakfast included

there is no comment i can make, accomoddation was excellent value for money.

from London , GB  on  April 21, 2007

"The stay was very pleasant and very convenient for us. We came straight off the late evening ferry (with two dogs). Hotel is easy to find. Parked the car close to the hotel and we could see the car and the sea from our hotel window which was nice. Check in was very quick and easy. Room was clean and nice and modern and nice comfortable bed. Bathroom well equipped. Represented good value for money with nice pleasant people at check in desk. There was a nice breakfast available but we left without eating as we were pushed for time. I would without doubt use this hotel again." (99636847)

We were on our way to our house in SW France with our two dogs. It was a pleasure to arrive at the hotel to be greeted by two lovely ladies who were exceptionally pleasant and it was indeed a late check in. It was nice that the hotel accapted the dogs and we would return again when doing to same trip.

"Good clean rooms with mini bar/ tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom was very clean and modern which was good. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely use this hotel again but I would ask for a front facing room as I didn't like big windows that opened fully at back and view wasn't nice at back. great parking as well either on street or secure parking" (99694244)

clean modern rooms with good bathrooms. plenty of parking both secure/on street. staff efficient and friendly. would stay over again, as standards are good at this Hotel.

hot food at breakfast was a bit grim, but cold food good large windows at back of hotel open wide, not great for young children

Very kind of the staff." (97063620)

I was so impressed that it was no problem at all bringing the dog into the hotel. There is always such a fuss made however we were treated the same as if the dog was not there. room fantastic.

It was easy to find. Rooms were pleasant and clean. Parking was no problem. The location was ideal for a selection of the local restaurants.

At 1 am a siren (presumably something to do with the harbour) went off and the room was not soundproofed enough to stop it being heard.

"This hotel offered everything we needed for a one night stay in Calais. Rooms were quiet and well equipped. Our room set up with a spiral staircase was novel and may have been a problem for less able guests. Our friends staying at the hotel did not have this feature, so not all rooms are the same. With so many local restaurants close at hand, the only problem was choosing one or of course the hotel had its own!" (99569993)

Central location with on street parking right outside the front door

Spiral staircase linking bedroom with onsuite was tricky during the night

    "An expensive stay" (99476714)

    Room size and cleanliness

Put in a room where persons had been smoking - although requested a no-smoking room. Poor comfort of beds. Having to pay an extortionate 12.50 euros for use of Wifi Internet - normally free at other hotels we stay in.

The room was in good order , very clean and a nice see veiw

Room 109 : Next to the linen cupboard where we were woken very earley in the morning with staff going in and out all the time and i would like to say , You will not get a lot of sleep in this one also room 108 next door was also very , very noisy , once again no sleep.

"Rooms are over priced - we waited over 2 hours for our food to arrive for dinner and our youngest child ate his meal one hour before the rest of the party (total of 6 of us) were served. During this time there were no staff around to order drinks to keep the kids happy. The food was small in portion style, tasteless and the kids portion on chicken niuggets had only 3 nuggets - atrocious and very over priced. The location was good.

There was a fire works display during the late evening. The bar staff was apparently watching them and I had to get the reception clerk to get our drinks. The breakfast was not worth the price.

    from Telford , United Kingdom;GB  on  June 24, 2006

"The hotel was easy to find and close to the ferry terminal, so was ideal for our stop over. The room was quite large, having two double beds and a small separate sitting area, so great for us, a family with young children as it meant we had somewhere comfortable to sit and watch TV while they slept. We took our children (aged 5 and 3) in the restaurant, and there was a children's menu and the staff were very helpful. The food was very good and included vegetarian options. The bar staff even agreed to put the England v Sweden football World Cup game in the TV, which made my husband happy; and then put up with the inevitable highs and lows throughout! We would definitely stay there again." (3304631925)

Hotel was good. Good proximity to Town and channel crossing

Car Parking was very poor. This was worse due to a concert in the Town Square and virtually no available car parking spaces. Also several roads had been closed off making this situation worse
